"Toy Story 3" hits theaters June 18, and I think I'm just as excited as your kiddies. The "Toy Story" brand has such a lasting appeal, and the first two movies were equally hilarious and enjoyable. I'm crossing my fingers the third will be just as good.![]() But, this blog isn't about the movie – it's about the books that come with it. Specifically, the "Toy Story 3: Read-Aloud Storybook" from Random House/Disney. The selection, which is geared for children ages 3 to 8, recreates the film in an easy-to-read, engaging format. ![]() I haven't yet seen the film, but I like what I see in the book: "Toy Story 3" picks up when Andy's a teenager and has grown out of his childhood playthings. ![]() Though Andy's a bit older, the story still has all the action and adventure of the first, following Woody, Buzz and the rest of the well-known and much-loved gang as they accidentally end up at Sunnyside Daycare. It's a clever continuation of the original two, and I urge you to pick up this classic to share with your children after they've seen the movie. 'Toy Story 3: Read-Aloud Storybook' [ages 3-8] (Random House/Disney; 72 pages: $9.99) ![]() Kristen Schott is OC Family's children's book editor.
