Bubble gum. It's pink, chewy, poppy and has a very distinct flavor, one that can only be associated with bubble gum. But, where did it come from? "Pop! The Invention of Bubble Gum" provides the answer for kiddies in a fun and colorful narrative that follows Walter Diemer, a young accountant working at the Fleer factory, which makes – of all things – chewing gum. The Fleer family seeks to create bubble gum, but to no avail, until Walter – entirely on accident – comes up with the solution. With a little bit of dedication and innovation, Walter changes the world of gum, candy and the word "pop" forever. Set against simple yet eye-catching illustrations, the story is an enjoyable one, and it's easy enough that young kiddies will be able to read it on their own, with a little help from mom or dad, of course. The book also offers facts about Walter, gum and some of the quotes from the inventor that will help boost your child's learning experience. The only downfall of the book?
