The Learn to Read Kids Club is fun for children, parents

By Kristen SchottPublished: October, 2010

I'm always looking for innovative reading products for little ones, and this product from Huntington Beach-based Creative Teaching Press is among my favorites.

The Learn to Read Kids Club is an at-home program for children ages 3-8 and their parents that aims to boost educational foundations for kiddies.

The basic program offers four books – titles include "I See Colors" and "How to Make a Mudpie" – with two selections in each of the key curriculum areas, such as math, social studies and science, as well as fun and fantasy pieces. The set also includes a parent guide, a workbook that coincides with the books and a travel case.

There's also a Kids Club Combo and Kids Club Collection that offer reward charts and stickers.

The platform builds on the success of CTP's internationally known "Learn to Read" series, which has sold more than 20 million copies – and the newer selection has also garnered some acclaim of its own.

The Learn to Read Kids Club was named Media of the Year by Creative Child Magazine. The program honors the best products available for kids.

It's important to boost the knowledge kids gain at school with at-home learning, and this product is a fun, inventive way to keep up that momentum.
