Want a book-signing treat?

Head to Latitude 33 to meet the author of 'Goal!'

By Kristen SchottPublished: July, 2010

Ah, summertime, you are the best for finding new books – and meeting new authors.

On Saturday, Latitude 33 Bookshop in Laguna Beach is hosting a book signing and reading with Mina Javaherbin, author of "Goal!"

Published by Candlewick Press and illustrated by A. G. Ford, this is Javaherbin's first picture book, and it couldn't be more timely – its subject is soccer. (Can we say World Cup, anyone?)

The book takes place in South Africa and follows Ajani and his friends, who get their hands on a new soccer ball. But what happens when some bullies try to steal their prized possession?

Well, you'll have to go to the reading to find out!

It'll be a real treat – plus you'll get to check out Latitude 33, which is one of the coolest little beachside treasures in Orange County.

It all takes place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Latitude 33 is located at 311 Ocean Ave.
