![]() Tagged as an "absolutely delicious fairy tale," The book follows the Duchess of Whimsy, who is well-known for her outlandish parties, clothing and pets, and the Earl of Norm – he's exactly like his name. He's normal – and, at least in the beginning, somewhat similar to Mr. Collins in "Pride and Prejudice." (At least for me – he's a bit of a buffoon with all his antics.) The Earl is in love with everything about the Duchess, but she's rather unimpressed by him – until he comes to the rescue when the cook falls ill with an "ordinary" grilled-cheese sandwich and glass of milk. It's a tale of unlikely love – and it teaches kiddies to look beyond what's on the outside. It's what is in the inside that counts. Oh my, this is such a fun, pleasant story to discover, one that should be read over and over again. Plus, the images are so very detailed and, well "extraordinary," to quote the book.
