3 NEW ORANGE COUNTY EATERIES TO TRY

Dining options range from pizza pie to Greek cuisine


Ready to venture out of the norm? Three new eateries have opened at the Irvine Spectrum offering options any shopper would love. Pieology Pizzeria, Tender Greens and Taverna Blu are the latest restaurants joining the shopping destination’s tasty assortment of places to eat!

Topping the list is the second Pieology Pizzeria. The Orange County-based pizzeria prides itself on “providing the best tasting, healthiest kustom pizza served smoking hot in under five minutes. Using only the freshest ingredients.” Dining guests can create their own pizza with unlimited toppings at just one price. This location is Pieology’s second location, the first was in Fullerton. The restaurant is positioned near Macy’s, and offers take out as well!
   
Tender Greens also recently joined the Spectrum’s wealth of restaurants. This is the eatery’s first Orange County location, Tender Green has restaurants in Hollywood, Pasadena, San Diego and Santa Monica. Located in Edward Court, the bistro-style farmer’s market-inspired eatery uses the freshest ingredients available in all its dishes. Their menu includes large gourmet salads, a variety of sandwiches, appetizers and entrées that include fish, chicken and beef.

Also new to the Spectrum is Taverna Blu, a casual eatery known for its delicious Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Guests can enjoy small plates, house specials, sandwiches and pastas in a fun and relaxed environment. Beer and wine is served and happy hour is offered between 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Orange County will be the restaurant’s second location. The first opened in San Diego.

Upcoming openings to keep on your radar

Orange County’s Bruxie will be opening its fifth location in Huntington Beach this April. The waffle sandwich shop, which has a unique menu of more than a dozen savory and sweet options, will be located at the Strand on Fifth.

In addition to the famous waffles, Bruxie’s menu also offers a creative variety of salads, locally produced old-fashioned cane sugar sodas, real Wisconsin frozen custard, shakes, sundaes and floats; keeping everything on the menu under $10.


Fashion Island will soon be welcoming a few new restaurants, such as the FIG & OLIVE and Red O Restaurant Mexican Cuisine.

With locations in New York and West Hollywood, this will be the first FIG & OLIVE in Orange County.  The restaurant will deliver the flavors and ingredients of the Rivera and the Mediterranean in both small plates, such as, a fig gorgonzola tartlet to main courses that include a seared sea scallop with truffle artichoke tapenade.

Coming this summer to Fashion Island is RED O Restaurant Mexican Cuisine. A hot spot on Melrose in West Hollywood, this will be the eatery’s first Orange County location. The menu will feature exclusive items, and there will be a dinner, weekday lunch, weekend brunch and its Street Food Social Hour selection as well.
