The Orange County Community Foundation has released a report detailing 3 critical issues for the area's families
In a county known for it’s affluence, many Orange County residents lack basic needs. The Orange County Community Foundation has released a report showing one in 3 residents lack access to health care, and nearly half of all students live in families earning 40-thousand dollars a year or less.
The study also found that a minimum wage employee would have to work 133 hours a week to afford a one-bedroom apartment. The foundation’s study coincides with an announcement of a new plan to make it easier for people to donate to local non-profit organizations.
In the coming months, the foundation will launch a new website offering a database of about 600 charity and service organizations. The goal is to more easily connect donors with non-profits. Look for the debut of the newly designed connectoc.org website in the spring.
