CHOC Children's Hospital has earned the 2012-2015 Gold Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence. The hospital is the only pediatric facility on the west coast to earn the Gold-level.
“We take tremendous pride in earning the prestigious Gold Beacon Award and to be recognized as one of the handful of hospitals who have received a Beacon Award multiple times,” says Julie Vaupel-Phillips, MHA, RN, CCRN, director of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Emergency Transport Services.
This is the unit's 3rd Beacon Award. The gold-level honor was given for CHOC's commitment meet quality critical care standards, and for placing importance on delivering exceptional care of patients and their families.
“It’s a validation of the unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence that are the standard hallmarks of our PICU,” concludes Vaupel-Phillips.
