The local restaurateur seeks kids with a knack for cooking to submit a YouTube video
Do you ever think that your kid outshines you in the kitchen? If your kid has a knack for preparing dishes, this contest is perfect for them to enter.
After a successful Kid Chef Search last year, Zov's restaurant chef and owner Zov Karamardian is launching the second annual search for kid chefs and will be offering the winning child a $1,000 savings bond. With the contest, Zov hopes to teach children about healthy eating by encouraging them to use fresh ingredients and to learn what it takes to create a good dish. “Last year’s event was such a success we wanted to replicate it,” she said. “We are looking forward to seeing what talent we uncover this year.”
To enter, record your child preparing a dish for no longer than three minutes, upload it onto YouTube, then send the link to Zov’s for consideration. Five finalists will then be selected and invited to attend, with their families, an awards ceremony at Zov’s Neighborhood Café & Bar in Newport Beach. At the ceremony, top food critics and journalists will reveal the winning video. If your child becomes a finalist, make sure you attend, because attendance by the finalists is required to win!
