E-cards
have come a long way. This year, trade your standard paper love note
for an e-card that allows you to personalize the message and even
upload a photo.
Say “Be Mine” and show your crafty side by making a valentine of your own using recycled and natural materials.
Tell
your loved ones to skip the roses this time around and request a potted
plant that you can put in your yard this spring – and watch it grow
every day.
For the lil’ loved ones in your life, check out
lil’ bloomer cards and heart-shaped garden tags. (bloomin.com) These
fun, eco-friendly tags and cards are made of seed paper and are
plantable!
Eat locally – give your spouse or significant
other a date night at a restaurant that specializes in organic or
locally grown foods – walk there if you can!
For the sweet tooth in your life, opt for organic, fair trade chocolates.
SOLUTION OF THE MONTH Show your love
Here’s an easy, inexpensive way to show your kids some love this Valentine’s Day:
You’ll
need some red, pink and white construction paper cut into heart shapes,
chocolate candy kisses, a pen and a glass Mason jar for each child.
Beginning on Feb. 1, write one thing you love about each child on a
heart, and place it in his or her jar along with a kiss. By Valentine’s
Day, your kids will have a jar full of 14 things that you love about
them, along with plenty of kisses. Now that’s sweet!
