BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY
Always check the ingredients on products designed to soothe discomfort.

> Aspirin products can cause risks of developing Reye’s syndrome – do not use.

> Antihistamine lotions can cause harmful side effects.

> Medications that include diphenhydramine, pramoxine, or lidocaine should be avoided.

> Too much calamine lotion can be dangerous.

> Check the ingredients on calamine lotions; some come in combination with pramoxine.

> Steroid creams can increase the risk of an additional bacterial infection of skin lesions. The most common ingredient to avoid in these medications is hydrocortisone.

> Always check with your doctor first before treating your child.
