BORED WITH THAT SAME SALAD?
TRY THIS FRESH YUMMY LOW-FAT FIX:
Curried Turkey Salad with Walnuts.

WHAT YOU NEED:
1 1/4 lbs. boneless,  skinless turkey breast; 4 tsp. curry powder; 1 1/3 cups low- or non-fat  or sugar-free yogurt; 4 cups red or  green grapes; 12 cups mixed greens; 4 Tbsp. olive oil and vinegar dressing.

HOW TO PREPARE IT:
Cut turkey into bite-sized cubes.  Heat a non-stick skillet to medium high and coat with cooking spray;  sauté turkey  cubes 4 to 5 minutes until thoroughly cooked; remove and let cool. Mix  yogurt with curry power. Cut grapes in half. Mix cooled turkey and grapes  with seasoned yogurt. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minuetes  for flavors to blend. In the meantime, dry and shred salad greens. In  a salad bowl, toss greens with dressing and place on a dinner plate.  Remove turkey mixture from refrigerator; place on top of salad greens. Sprinkle salad with walnuts and serve.

Know How: Flawless Summer Legs
To prep legs for skirt season, start by exfoliating with this homemade  scrub. Mix 3 Tbs. ground sesame seeds, 2 Tbs. almond or olive oil, 1  Tbs. honey, and 1 Tbs. chopped mint leaves. Combine all ingredients in  a bowl and warm for 10 seconds in the microwave. Step into a warm shower  and let your skin soak for five minutes. Massage the mixture into damp  skin, starting at thighs using circular motions. Rinse off with warm water.

FREE YOUR MIND: SORT AND DISCARD
Periodically, you need to empty your closet and dispose of or donate  clothes, shoes and accessories you no longer wear. Unused hangers also  take up space by getting tangled on your closet pole or falling onto  the floor. A better place for them is in a laundry or utility room, or  you can give them to your dry cleaner.

HIP mom tip:

Store out-of-season clothes in canvas cloth bags,  muslin or acid-free boxes – never plastic storage bins. Airtight  containers don’t allow natural fibers to breathe. If you don’t  have cloth bags or boxes, you can just as easily hang cotton sheets over  garments or keep out-of-season clothes in cotton duvet covers or pillowcases. Add lavender to keep your wardrobe smelling fresh while in storage.

FINDING  JOY
Having a bad day? Frustrated with a particular situation? Susan Gregg,  author of “Mastering the Toltec Way: A Daily Guide to Happiness,  Freedom, and Joy,” offers these 10 steps to improve your outlook.

1.  Breathe deeply. Pause frequently throughout the day and take a  long, slow, mindful breath.
2. Make a choice. Each moment of our life is an opportunity to make a choice. We can choose negative or positive thoughts.
3. Change your perspective. How we look at life dictates how we feel.
4. Express gratitude. When we are truly grateful, fear no longer exists. If  you’re stuck in traffic, be grateful you have a car.
5. Be emotionally neutral. If you don’t like how you are feeling at any  given moment, tell yourself something different.
6. Look with eyes of love. We can see life through the eyes of love or the  eyes of fear.
7. Meditate daily. Set aside a specific time each day to meditate and then  sit back and relax.
8. Listen to yourself talk. You are constantly talking to yourself. Ask yourself, “Is  this the voice of fear or the voice of love?”
9. Let go. As Buddha said – all suffering is caused by our attachment.
10. Decide to be right or be happy. Before you decide to act today, notice  if you really want to be right or if you really want to be happy, then decide  accordingly.
