![]() Bonding is key. Although you may think she sleeps far too much, the first few weeks are key bonding times for you and your newborn. For the record, the first three months, a baby may sleep an average of 15 hours per day. No matter how tired you are, take advantage of the late-night feedings and bath times; this is when a newborn will most connect with her parents. Between months two and four, you will begin hearing baby language. Your little one wants to communicate with you, and she’ll begin to make lots of sounds; it is important to acknowledge her and talk back. Also during this time, your baby will begin lifting her head and gaining arm strength. This is when babies develop hand-eye coordination. At about four months, your newborn will start trying to roll over and will begin sitting up by herself. But this is only the beginning. |
