Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour
    Opens Feb. 1; Rated G

If your child is still sulking about being shut out of the sold-out “Hannah Montana” concert starring Miley Cyrus and featuring The Jonas Brothers, her smile might return with tickets to see the big show in 3-D on the big screen. Then again, with advance sales having begun in December, and that the Disney movie is scheduled to be shown for 1 week only (Feb. 1-7), more disappointment could be in your kid’s future. As a consolation, there’s always the video of the movie of the concert.

    Penelope
    Opens Feb. 29, Rated PG
    penelopethemovie.com
Christina Ricci plays a girl cursed at birth with pig ears and a snout. As sexist fairy tales go, the curse is broken if she finds the right guy to love her. Catherine O’Hara, as Penelope’s mother, and James McAvoy, as the modern-day Prince Charming, get to ham it up, while producer Reese Witherspoon casts herself in a Bacon Bit-sized role.

    The Spiderwick Chronicles
    Opens Feb. 15; Rated PG-13
    spiderwickchronicles.com
How many fantasies set in enchanted lands inhabited by fairies, goblins and other creatures do we need? Apparently, at least another one. This alternate world comes from the book series by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi, and is centered on a set of boy twins (Freddie Highmore) and their older teenaged sister who discover an odd, sometimes dangerous, place through a book found in their great-uncle’s rundown mansion.
