NEW FAMILY FILMS ‘Land of the Lost’Opens June 5, rated PG Lasting only two seasons in the mid-’70s, “Land of the Lost” is best remembered by Baby Boomers as more campy than classic, which probably will suit Will Ferrell’s brand of over-the-top comedy better than his last TV-to-film effort, “Bewitched.” The Irvine-born Ferrell stars as a has-been scientist who is thrust with his assistant and a redneck survivalist into an alternate universe populated by dinosaurs and other creatures. ![]() ‘Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen’ Opens June 24, rated PG-13 Not getting their fill of giant robot action in the 2007 blockbuster, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox return to lend a human hand in an epic battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. Director and co-writer Michael Bay has said the sequel is less about a boy and his car than about Sam (LaBeouf) coming of age. Rainn Wilson of TV’s “The Office” joins returning supporting cast members Josh Duhamel and John Turturro. NEW DVD RELEASES ‘Barney: Sing & Dance with Barney’ Ages 2-5, released June 16, not rated) Barney gets a bad rap for being too sweet and happy all the time, but isn’t that how we want our kids to be? So let them sing and dance to “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and “B-I-N-G-O” with the purple TV icon. Grade: A- Goosebumps: ‘Return of the Mummy’ and ‘The Scarecrow Walks’ at Midnight’ Ages 6-12, now available, not rated Sold separately, these are the latest DVDs featuring creepy episodes of the anthological TV series that will bring daunting delight to future ghostbusters. Grade: B+ Looney Tunes Movie Collection: ‘Looney, Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie’ Ages 3-8, now available, not rated This feature-length release is cleverly comprised of three parts. Each features a collection of legendary cable shorts that are threaded with new material. It’s a winner for all generations. Grade: A ‘Snoopy’s Reunion’ Ages 3-8, now available, not rated When Snoopy becomes homesick for his puppyhood days at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, he and Charlie Brown organize a reunion with his brothers and sisters.
