![]() The event, to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Irvine Valley College, is a service of the nonprofit agency Families Forward. Participating agencies include Hoag Hospital, Legal Aid Society, Consumer Credit Counseling and the Fair Housing Council. “We have been experiencing an unprecedented number of requests for help from families in our community,” says Margie Wakeham, executive director of Families Forward, “And for most of these families this is an entirely new situation. We are thrilled at the response from the community, including the city of Irvine, the county of Orange, Irvine Valley College and of course all of the health care, legal, professional and other organizations that are participating. Best of all, it is free.” Families Forward has a 26-year history in Orange County of providing transitional housing, homeless prevention programs, food pantry and other services that promote self-sufficiency.
