![]() The original deadline for the campaign was Dec. 31, but since IPSF was only 10 percent away from reaching its goal, they extended the campaign for a few more weeks. The nonprofit says the final $50,000 was raised in thanks to the generous support from families, PTAs and local corporations in the community. The City of Irvine will match the total amount raised through a challenge grant to help IUSD for the 2012-2013 school year. All proceeds will go toward large class-size support by providing smaller group instruction in elementary schools and reducing class sizes in middle and high schools. IPSF plans to continue their efforts throughout 2012 this time to benefit music instruction, science, technology and enrichment programming. “With the new year comes another opportunity for us to raise $1 million in matching funds from the City of Irvine,” said CEO of IPSF Neda Zaengle. “We will keep working hard to maintain the excellence of our local schools, and we hope that we can count on the community’s continued support.” |
