![]() St. Joseph Hospital in Orange has received recognition as a Baby-Friendly birth facility. It is the first hospital to achieve the coveted distinction in Orange County. St. Joseph was recognized by Baby-Friendly USA, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and the United States Children’s Fund, for its ongoing efforts to support nursing mothers. The initiative is part of the worldwide effort to encourage and recognize hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. The Baby-Friendly designation is given after a rigorous on-site survey is completed. The award is maintained by continuing to practice the quality processes.
