The Philharmonic Society is hosting its 16th-annual House of Design charity through May 18. The cost to tour this year’s house is $30-$35. This year, the Philharmonic selected an 8,500-square-foot villa in the Newport Beach community of Crystal Cove. Professionals from the American Society of Design were handpicked to revamp 23 of the home’s design spaces, which include a guest suite, artist loft, billiards room, game room, office, library, pool, outdoor kitchen and loggias. The Philharmonic Society gave the designers 1 guideline: Make the home sparkle with the modern “Orange County Style.” The House of Design fund-raiser is the Philharmonic’s largest event. In 30 days, the charity will raise close to $100,000. Proceeds will be given to 200,000 kindergarten- through high-school-age children involved in the Philharmonic Society’s Youth Music Programs. |
