‘ARTSCONNECT” PROGRAM LAUNCHED
“The Center’s ArtsConnect” program has begun in five Orange County schools as part of a five-year partnership between the Orange County Performing Arts Center and the Orange County Department of Education. The program aims to demonstrate the positive impact that the arts have on students, including academic achievement, social development and motivation for learning. The five schools are Santiago Elementary School in Lake Forest, Sonora Elementary School in Costa Mesa, Stanford Elementary School in Garden Grove, St. John the Baptist School in Costa Mesa, and Taft Elementary School in Santa Ana.

SAINT JOSEPH BALLET ANNOUNCES ENDOWMENT
Saint Joseph Ballet recently held a black-tie tribute for its founder, Beth Burns, at its Santa Ana studios. In addition to honoring Burns’ pioneering contributions to the field of arts-for-youth- programming, the event netted $75,000 to support the Ballet’s dance, academic and family programs. Founded in 1983, Saint Joseph Ballet is a nonprofit organization that provides dance, academic and family programs to low-income youth in Orange County.

PROJECT TOMORROW MERGES WITH NETDAY
Project Tomorrow, a nonprofit agency that promotes science education in Orange County schools, recently merged with NetDay, a national nonprofit group that assists educators across the country with technology in the classroom. The merger will establish Orange County as a national center for the development of innovative science and technology programs in K-12 schools. NetDay CEO and former Project Tomorrow board member, Julie Evans, will serve as the head of the new organization, which retained the Project Tomorrow name.

NEW FAMILY RETAIL KIOSK
The Family Post, Inc., a Newport Beach-based company offering a way for families to communicate through personalized family websites, has opened a retail cart at Fashion Island, in front of Macy’s.

The Family Post offers high-end, customized websites that feature an array of design options, music selections, detailed flash graphics, and streaming audio and video capabilities that to store, organize and view family photos and video.
