Dads, we NEED YOU! Our November issue is about you! And we just need a few minutes of your time. By Susan BelknappPublished: August, 2010

Before I launch into my plea for Orange County dads to fill out our VERY quick and easy questionnaire, I want to give an update on my last blog about DonorsChoose.org. Today the organization announced it received a donation of $1.3 million by the San Francisco-based Claire Giannini Fund to finance almost EVERY PROJECT IN CALIFORNIA!! That is 2,233 school projects! That is incredible news and I give the Claire Giannini Fund a standing ovation!!! Okay, moving on to Dads. If you read Suzanne Broughton’s awesome blog here, you will see that November is our Dads issue. And what does that mean? Well, it means different things in different years, but this year we wanted to make the piece about YOU, the dads of our regions. We wanted to see and hear from every type of dad in Orange County. We want young dads, old dads, surfers, civil servants and CEOs. If you’re a step-dad or unrelated father figure, we want to know about you too. If you are a father in a child’s life, we want to hear about who you are and what you have found to be surprising, rewarding and challenging about fatherhood.   The “survey” isn’t really a survey, it’s a very quick Q&A; three questions that you can answer with one or two sentences and your general information – city, occupation, etc. We would like to get as many dads for each region as we can and we would like to feature everyone we have a workable survey and photo from (more on this later). So, please, take a few minutes and tell us about yourself. The November issue is all about Dad, but we can’t do it without you.
