![]() I had the very distinct honor of being invited to Anaheim Stadium to sample the Major League menu. ARAMARK, the exclusive food and beverage partner for all 12 Major League Baseball teams, organized the event with assistance from the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim. Two specially developed dining destinations will feature signature BBQ menu items from 12 Major League ballparks, prepared by chef representatives from each one. In addition, the American and National League clubs will go head-to-head in a Dueling BBQ competition in a battle for bragging rights over who has the most creative cuisine. We were treated to the best offerings from the restaurants on the newly revamped Angel Stadium dining menu, which debuted this year. Restaurants such as Toro Sushi, Panini Café, CHIX and Diablo’s Fierce Barbeque were there. I sampled gourmet flatbread and sliders, braised short ribs and beef tenderloin, shrimp and carnitas tacos, lobster rolls, incredible desserts – including banana bread pudding, a chocolate and white chocolate-chip cookie, dipped in white chocolate and liquid-nitrogen ice cream. The ice cream is soft, but very rich and fresh, as it is frozen almost immediately upon making. I tried was chocolate chipotle and it was outrageous – sweet and rich with a spicy bite. Even if you can't score tickets to the big game, make a point to get down to the area an join in the culinary celebration. See more with OCMETRO's coverage here.
