Early Years, continued ...

CASPER TURNS 60
Casper the Friendly Ghost is celebrating his 60th year and is encouraging parents to make sure their little goblins have a safe and super Halloween.

> See clearly
Ensure that masks, hats and accessories permit unimpeded vision. Or consider makeup instead.

> Step freely
Long skirts, capes or baggy pants can entangle small feet. Make sure that costumes are short enough and that shoes fit properly.

> Show your glow
Use illuminated sticks, jewelry and reflective tape to make safety fun. Flashlights need fresh batteries.

> Slow down
Use sidewalks, crosswalks and well-lit intersections; always obey the traffic laws.

> Sort and check treats
Examine candy to make sure it is wrapped. Hard candy or gum should be removed from the bags of small children.

> Be there for them
An adult should always accompany trick-or-treaters.
