A
single mother in her 30s, Michell Damm Gullet knows about juggling
multiple demands. She works in management for Renaissance ClubSport in
Aliso Viejo and has been in the fitness industry for more than 10
years.
“I have been a single working mother since my
daughter was 1,” says Gullet. “I work 50 to 60 hours a week, and as a
personal goal I trained for the IFBB Pro Fitness competition in March.
I earned my first Pro card at the USA Finals in July 2009.”
Her
greatest joy as a working mother is the knowledge that she is being an
example and role model for her daughter as she grows and develops into
the person and woman she will become.
“My greatest challenge
is making sure to be there for my daughter and at the same time giving
it my all in my career, knowing that I am providing for my daughter and
her well-being, health and joy. Even on the toughest days, I know in
the end it pays off.” renaissanceclubsport.com
Michell’s
tip: “Just being a mom is a challenging job. Try to curb the guilt and
don’t worry what you may feel about not being there every moment.”
