Miche’
Almeida does triple duty as a pediatric speech pathologist, business
owner and single mom of two boys. Her company is South County Pediatric
Speech in Mission Viejo.
“As a pediatric speech
pathologist, I am responsible for the evaluation and treatment of
children with speech and language disorders, ages birth through
adolescence,” says Almeida. “
As an owner of the business, I
share administrative duties, company marketing and employee training. I
have been a speech language pathologist for 17 years and have co-owned
the company for almost 14 years.”
Like most working moms, or
moms in general, the quest to bring it all together is her greatest
challenge. She volunteers at her sons’ school on Fridays, but she is
not always able to attend student functions or every sports activity on
a regular basis.
“My greatest joy as a single working mom
is the ability to provide financial and emotional support to my
children,” Almeida says. “When my boys say they are proud of me for
teaching children with disabilities how to think and talk, I feel
blessed to be able to do what I love.” southcountypediatricspeech.com
Miche’s
tip: “Accept help from family and friends. And having a calendar
function on my phone to remind me of events and tasks helps to keep me
organized.”
