Dawn Nicolaisen Costa Mesa Personal Publishing Consultant and Proposal Coordinator
By
day, Dawn Nicolaisen, mother of a 2-year-old, is a proposal coordinator
for a civil engineering construction company based in Corona. She
develops design-build proposals for multimillion-dollar construction
projects.
“I spent eight years in software marketing prior
to this job,” says Nicolaisen. “In my off time, I am a personal
publishing consultant with Heritage Makers, where I teach my clients
how to turn their pictures into beautiful storybooks for their family
to treasure.”
Her greatest joys come from knowing she’s providing for her family’s future and seeing her son’s face when she comes home.
“We have a ritual; I knock and he opens the door with a huge smile on his face!”
Not being there as much as she would like is her greatest challenge.
“I
work 30 miles from home, so my husband takes my son to school and picks
him up,” she says. “I have had to learn to let go of some of my control
issues and just know that I am doing the right thing for my family.”

Dawn's tip: “When you are home, learn to be present. The laundry can wait. Turn off the TV.”
