“This is a way of promoting music education, because I believe in it so heavily,” says Bentley. “I just believe music is critically important, particularly for young children. Enroll your kids in high quality classes and, as they get older, insist that there is music education in the schools. If you make a big enough stink, the principals will try,” she says.
The bottom line, local mom bloggers agree, is that blogging has opened doors for them, whether it is finding community, venting stress, sharing useful information or simply having fun.
“I love the idea of being a voice of a certain generation,” says Broughton, of Alive in Wonderland. “One reason I love blogging is that even though we’re moms, it doesn’t take away from our families to pursue our dreams. Blogging has enriched my life so much, and made me a better mom. We all need to find the creative things, the things that you love. This has enriched my family life, not taken away from it.”
