Jose ‘Chava’ Chavez Agriculture ace Grade: 11 Orange High School
Jose “Chava” Chavez may one day become the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. He is off to a running start, serving as president of the Agriculture students at Orange High School. He has been an active member in the Agriculture Science Department since his freshman year. Over the course of his experience, he has been tapped for public speaking engagements and leadership training. Chava has also been competitive in FFA regional and state level activities as well as the Orange County Fair, showing his expertise in raising geese and lambs. He also teaches new students how to raise, show and feed their lambs.
Chava extends his talents to community service projects such as Adopt A Family and Farm Fest; he conducts elementary tours to educate the public about agriculture.
