This is the perfect place for guided horseback tours and Western and English riding lessons. Trail rides take place at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday by appointment. Riders must be 8 years old or older. Lessons are offered year-round on a monthly-fee basis.

This charming little park has an animal farm with goats, sheep, chickens and ducks for children to see and pet. A small lake is also filled with trout. This location is perfect for a family picnic.

Old Towne has a number of residences that were built between 1889 and 1929. They include a variety of architectural styles. Once a year in October, visitors can take “A Walk in Time” tour of these homes. This area also boasts a number of antique shops lining the downtown streets. According to state historic research surveys, Orange has the second largest concentration of historic buildings.

Irvine Park Railroad is the perfect summer destination! Enjoy this 12 minute ride through historic Irvine Regional Park. Paved bicycle and walking trails lead visitors through the central park, providing access to playgrounds, softball fields, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts and a lagoon. Tables and barbeques are located throughout this 477-acre park with convenient parking and nearby restroom facilities. The park includes the Irvine Park Railroad, pony rides and snack shop. There are also four party pavilions that can be reserved through the Train Station.

In 1993, The Irvine Co. opened up these 17,000 acres of privately owned ranch land to the public for the first time in 129 years. One of its most exciting features for hikers are “the Sinks,” a red sandstone formation in the shape of a huge 250-foot deep bowl that was carved by a stream more than a million years ago. Mountain biking, hiking and equestrian tours are also scheduled. Reservations are required.

The Orange County Zoo is located inside beautiful Irvine Regional Park in Orange. We exhibit animals native to the southwestern United States including black bears, mountain lions, bald eagles, beaver, coyotes, bobcats, mule deer, porcupine, vultures and more! The Orange County Zoo is located within the 477-acre Irvine Regional Park. The zoo's focus is on animals and plants native to the southwestern United States. Animals on exhibit include black bears, mountain lions, bald eagle, island foxes, ocelot, red-tailed hawk, great horned owls, porcupine, coyotes, turkey vultures, coati and more. The zoo also features a barnyard with domestic goats, chevoit sheep, jacob sheep, pot-bellied pigs, doves and pheasants.
