This three-story Victorian, Queen Anne-style house dates back to 1894 and was built by John Woelke for use as his family home. In 1953, the house was donated to the Anaheim Chapter of the American Red Cross and ultimately donated to the Orange County American Red Cross. It has a history room on the second floor, where historical American Red Cross memorabilia are displayed. Tours are by appointment only.

A great spot for a lazy day of fishing right in your own back yard. Anaheim Lake has 75 acres of water with three islands in the lake that provide excellent fishing possibilities from rental boats or privately launched boats. The cost is $20 for adults and $7 for children for the whole day or evening of fishing.

Disneyland has launched a new program devoted to families with young children called Magical Beginnings, which offers age-appropriate attractions, entertainment, special services, tips and tools to help parents plan a memorable visit with their little ones.

Still encompassing the magic that Disney has to offer, theaters, live music, arcades and tasty eateries make this downtown an entertaining and enjoyable getaway for the entire family, with a hint of enchantment.

An exhilarating sports-packed arcade challenges the family to competitive interactive games, such as virtual skiing, basketball and motorcycle rides. The 10,000-square-foot arena features 175 TV screens so one never misses a moment of the action while waiting for some family feasting in the ESPN Zone Restaurant.

Take a walk down memory lane as you explore this museum's distinct toy collection. The approximate 3,000-piece collection is housed in a half-scale model of the White House. Dolls include Star Wars figures, Barbie and Strawberry Shortcake, as well as a number of rare items.

Honda Center, formerly the Arrowhead Pond, is home to the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks. The center also hosts concerts and an array of sporting events.

House of Bounce has fun for all ages and is only a jump away. This center includes two arenas with a 30-by-45-foot inflatable that supports 26 obstacles, vintage arcade games, air hockey and basketball. Open play is available on Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon and Thursday from 10 a.m.-noon and 3:30-5:30 p.m. The cost is $7 per child, with $2 pizza and drink to follow.

Nickel! Nickel! Family Arcade has 7,000 square feet of games for your family to enjoy. The family fun center also offers party and sports team packages. Hours: 2-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 1-11 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Oak Canyon Nature Center is a 58-acre natural park nestled in the Anaheim Hills. A year-round stream meanders through the park. Consisting of three adjoining canyons, four miles of hiking trails traverse one of the few remaining areas of oak woodland and coastal sage scrub in our region. Numerous fun and educational programs offered for children each month.

The Mother Colony House was built in 1957 with redwood shipped from San Francisco and contains many authentic pioneer artifacts. In fact, "Mother Colony" refers to the group of German immigrants who came from San Francisco to create a grape-growing community. This house is one of the oldest post-rancho era houses in Orange County and is a California state landmark. Tours are given by appointment only.

While this park does not allow boating or swimming, it is a popular place to fish for bass, catfish and bluegill. But be sure to bring your fishing license. In addition to its four lakes, the park has picnic areas, barbeques, biking, hiking and equestrian trails.
