Add a little sparkle to your home as well as a unique conversation piece when you decorate a plastic pumpkin with glitter and pages from a book.

Materials

• Pages from a book

• Craft pumpkin

• Decoupage glue

• Extra-fine glitter

• Foam paintbrush

• Scissors

• Plastic container

• Water in a bowl (not shown)

Directions

Step 1: Apply a thick coat of glue to the pumpkin stem and its base. Pour on glitter and shake off excess. Repeat until area is covered.

Step 2: Tear or cut 1-by-2-inch strips from a book. If the pages are on the thick side, slightly dampen the strips in a bowl of water.

Step 3: Apply glue to the pumpkin, press on your book strips and add another layer of glue. Repeat until your entire pumpkin is covered. It helps to use your fingers to push the strips into place and mold them around the pumpkin. Let dry.

Step 4: Apply glue where the glitter and book pages meet and add more glitter to give your pumpkin a seamless top. For extra bling, use rhinestones after your last glitter layer.
