For Disneyland visitors wanting a Mickey Mouse pancake for breakfast, they will have to visit the Rancho del Zocalo Restaurant in Frontierland starting in February.

The Disneyland Resort made the announcement Thursday on its blog.

According to the blog post, River Belle Terrace, the long time home of the pancake that looks like the famous mouse, will be transformed into a table service location with a revised menu – serving Southern barbecue items like ribs, chicken and seafood for lunch and dinner.

The restaurant will no longer serve breakfast when it makes the switch.

Desserts are also being added to the menu.

The venerable pancake and other breakfast menu items will be offered, beginning at the same time, at the nearby Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante – also in Frontierland. Other items from the River Belle Terrace menu will be on the menu there too, along with some new Mexican style breakfast entrees.

River Belle Terrace opened with Disneyland in 1955. It was first known as Aunt Jemima’s Pancake House, then was renamed Aunt Jemima’s Kitchen in 1962.

When the sponsorship by Aunt Jemima ended in 1970, it was renamed Magnolia Tree Terrace until 1971, when it received its current name.

During the park’s early years, a chef at Aunt Jemima’s supposedly created the first Mickey Mouse Pancake, and it was soon added to the menu by the folks operating the restaurant as lessees. It has been on the menu ever since.
