Consider giving some of your time at one of these local nonprofits this holiday season.

OC Small Paws
Even animals look for love during the holidays, and OC Small Paws is the place to spread love to some furry friends throughout Orange County. This no-kill cat rescue focuses on saving cats from high-kill shelters while giving them some much needed play time and foster homes. Give a kitten a warm home, volunteer your time to adorable furry friends or donate money toward their ongoing humane treatment. ocsmallpaws.org

The Wooden Floor
Help kids have a happy holiday at this nonprofit dance studio in Santa Ana. This is the perfect place to give toys a new home as The Wooden Floor partners with Toys for Tots to provide gifts to children in need. You can also decorate and donate Christmas trees for families. thewoodenfloor.org

Someone Cares Soup Kitchen
This Costa Mesa soup kitchen invites you to help it serve more than 500 people for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Providing meals every day of the year is the name of the game at Someone Cares Soup Kitchen, but the facility can use extra help during the holidays. The kitchen also hosts a toy drive, so bring a few gifts to donate. someonecareskitchen.org

Crittenton
This local nonprofit’s Angel Tree Gift Drive fulfills more than 700 Christmas wishes for children annually. Donate a gift or volunteer your time – or both  Dec. 2-18. Based in Fullerton, Crittenton partners with underprivileged families looking for a little extra TLC throughout the year. crittentonsocal.org

Grandma’s House of Hope
This organization tries to make hotel living jolly for the holidays. Along with providing aid for those living in poverty, escaping trafficking or suffering from mental health concerns, this nonprofit throws its annual Nana’s Kidz Christmas Party in hotels known for hosting underprivileged families in Santa Ana. Volunteer your time to the event, donate presents to be enjoyed or give some money to those in need. Grandma’s House of Hope welcomes all of these charitable gifts with open arms during the holiday season. grandmashouseofhope.org

Volunteer Match
You’re familiar with job search engines. Well, Volunteer Match provides the same service – for volunteer opportunities. If you know you want to volunteer time but don’t know which nonprofit speaks to you best, Volunteer Match allows users to conduct detailed searches to find the event or group most suited to them. Find places that need your help –from toy drives to soup kitchens and everything in between – this holiday season. volunteermatch.org
