There was so much excitement at the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association’s 4th annual frog-jumping contest on Friday, March 24 that announcer Jim Taylor lost his voice.
Taylor wasn’t exactly croaking, but he did have some trouble the next day announcing the 59th annual Fiesta de las Golondrinas Parade.
And who was the winner at the frog-jumping races? Everyone.
“I did five heats with five frogs in each heat,” Taylor reported. “Twelve sponsors had frogs in the race. But the way I have it set up is so the kids win. Each race had about 20 or so winners. Lots of happy faces.”
