Years ago, we’d get ready for Black Friday by waking up at the crack of dawn and lining up at megastores for $100 TV sets and $50 stereos. These days, all you have to do to prepare for Black Friday is fire up your smartphone and make sure to bring an external charger. Here are apps you must have when hitting the stores on Nov. 25.

Black Friday 2016 by Slickdeals
Designed for Black Friday sales, Slickdeals pulls information on all Black Friday sales from websites and retailers, so you can figure out which stores you plan to visit by going through the app. Find all the Black Friday ads, deals, coupons, doorbusters, promo codes and freebies available – even before they hit the papers. You can also get notified on your phone when a deal or promo code is posted. The best part? You can plan ahead with a shopping list that lists group deals by store. (Bonus: It’s also available for Cyber Monday and other mega sale days.) Available on IOS and Android

Point Inside
If you’re not a mall rat, you wouldn’t necessarily know how to get from store to store within a limited amount of time. The Point Inside app has maps for hundreds of malls around the country, and it lists special offers, deals and coupons within the malls and other retailers. You can access the maps offline before Black Friday even starts, so you can plan your routes and meetup points with your friends. South Coast Plaza, Brea Mall and Irvine Spectrum are just a few of the places available. And, with parking and restroom information clearly labeled, you don’t end up aimlessly wandering around when you could be buying deals. (Keep it in your phone even when Black Friday is over; it also maps more than 100 airports worldwide and dozens of other attractions including theme parks and museums such as Disneyland.) Available on IOS and Android

Black Friday Rush Mobile
If you don’t want to compete for deals with hordes of shoppers on the day itself, just play this game, which approximates the frenetic urgency people move with on Black Friday. All you have to do is grab the low-price offers as fast as you can with your shopping cart while avoiding other shoppers, stray carts and empty shelves. It’s mayhem, but at least you’re not out $1,000 at the end of the game. Available on IOS and Android

Shopsavvy
Shopsavvy makes it easy to compare prices on the things you want; all you do is scan the barcode found on the product, and Shopsavvy will find its prices at other major retailers, as well as product availability and other useful information. It also suggests similar items based on what you scan and search for.
Available on IOS and Android
