“Festivals of Lights” is featured as part of admission-free programs on the first Sunday of every month. Celebrate international festivals of lights including Diwali, Hanukkah and Las Posadas. Surf City Nights in Huntington Beach is when three blocks of Main Street close to traffic and open to fun. Shops spread out with sidewalk sales, the streets fill with vendors, and farmers set up with fresh, seasonal produce and flowers. Wednesday

Shipley Nature Center’s Interpretative Center is the first stop on a tour where a docent is available to answer questions and direct visitors to trails and sights of particular seasonal interest. Jolly Ol’ Santa will plan several return visits to his workshop. Along with Mrs. Claus and the elves, Santa will greet all visitors with a cheerful, “Ho! Ho! Ho!” and a peppermint candy cane. Light up the holiday at the City of Brea’s annual tree- lighting celebration at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Civic and Cultural Center, 1 Civic Center Circle. Live music and other entertainment will put everyone in a holiday mood. Watch the holiday tree light up the evening and see children’s eyes sparkle when Santa and Mrs. Claus drop in for a visit.
