Made in the USA is something I love to see on products I buy, but I bet you never realized how many wonderful things are actually made right here in Orange County. One such company is Skullduggery in Anaheim. They are the maker of a unique new kid product; Marble Racers.

I took a visit to their Anaheim facility get the history on the toy and the business. Established in 1979, as the ultimate creator of accurate educational models (think plaster skulls & bones  for colleges and museums), they then branched out into make close to 70 different varieties of plaster cast craft kits. Some are educational (animals & dinosaurs etc)and many others are just plain fun (silly hand casts and even super heroes).  A father and son family operation, which in this latest chapter of the business is now also making a 'Hotwheel-like' toy called Marble Racers. These toys are simple but unique, and a bit hard to explain. So I won't even try...here is a little video with all you need to know.

My kids were both enthralled with the do-it-yourself aspect of the toy, and have thoroughly enjoyed playing with the little cars as well. We had a night time race down the driveway which was a big hit with the neighborhood. Mostly I love to know this is a local product, by a fellow OC family. And at only $4.99-$7.99 each, I have a feeling we will be adding to our collection soon.

I bet you never knew all the fun stuff to do at Knott's Berry Farm, without even going in the park. Did you know that Knott's was once FREE. It was much smaller of course and only had a few rides, but yes it was totally free. Walter Knott's built the park with the sole purpose of providing entertainment to those who were waiting in line for the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Nice huh?

I remember clear as a bell, the day my dad- who was a fixture in the California apparel industry, said 'come with me real quick. I need to go check out this new mall place'. And off we went to Costa Mesa to see the newly opened LAB anti-mall. I was entranced. I went back this week, to show the place to my boys.
Come take a peak and see why this place is so well loved....

When was the last time you visited a genuine Main Street of America?
Come see what is going on in downtown Yorba Linda.
(Make every attempt to ignore my maniacal laughter. But that guy actually made me nervous :)

Right in the middle of Garden Grove is a wonderful place that has amazing buildings, business and homes from our past. One of which is the original garage were Walt Disney started his empire. Come watch, and see just SOME of what is waiting for you at the Stanley-Ware House property. I personally can not wait to head back soon!
